We are looking for a Mortgage and Protection Broker who will provide expert mortgage and protection advice to HomeLife clients, securing the best financial solutions for their needs and circumstances whilst being a strong advocate of the HomeLife brand and ethos. The full-time role will be based at our office in the beautiful surroundings of Nostell Estate in Nostell, Wakefield with free parking, an on-site cafe and national trust walks on the doorstep.
JOB ROLE
Liaising with banks, building societies and protection providers to find the best mortgage and protection solution for the client.
Supporting the marketing of HomeLife's services to clients.
Acquiring new clients and building lasting client relationships.
Assessing clients’ personal and financial circumstances and attitudes to risk to make the most suitable recommendations for the client’s needs.
Developing relationships with estate agents, solicitors and lending institutions as a representative of HomeLife's brand and ethos.
Ensuring compliance with banking and financial legislation.
Meet sales targets as set by the business need and growth targets.
Understand and adhere to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulatory requirements and GDPR legislation and methods of working.
Keep up to date with new mortgage and protection products to ensure the most accurate and suitable advice is given to clients.
Attending networking and business-related meetings and events.
ADMINISTRATIVE TASKS
Responding to client referrals and service requests in a timely manner through multiple communication channels.
Gathering information and evidence from clients and accurately keying in information for mortgage and protection applications.
Scanning and uploading client evidence onto relevant computer systems, and adhering to the filing structure.
Keeping clients updated and chasing client actions to prevent delays.
Regular liaison with lenders and providers to obtain updates on the status of applications.
Regular liaison with solicitors and estate agents to provide and obtain information in relation to client applications.
Promoting HomeLife Financial Solutions Ltd by regularly sharing reviews and supporting social media platforms.
Proactively contact clients where mortgages are due for renewal.
Collating and maintaining weekly figures and monthly pipeline reporting to demonstrate individual performance.
Appropriate deletion and destruction of documentation in line with Data Protection Legislation and FCA Regulations.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
GCSEs Grade C/4 (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
CeMAP 1,2,3 or equivalent.
Mortgage broker experience in a busy mortgage broking business.
Experience of working directly with clients, delivering excellent customer service in the finance sector.
Experience of working in an environment that requires meticulous attention to detail and dealing with confidential information.
Extensive experience of working work Microsoft Software including Word and Excel.
Having worked to tight deadlines in a time-conscious environment.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Good problem-solving skills, drive and initiative to work independently to meet sales targets.
Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Be resilient and calm with the ability to reassure and handle customers confidently whilst managing their expectations.
Ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies quickly.
An interest in the financial sector and a passion for finding the most suitable solutions to a client's personal and financial needs.
Excellent communication and listening skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly and effectively.
Competent mathematical skills and an ability to effectively communicated calculation-solutions to clients.
Financial Services industry knowledge.
Lender and protection products knowledge.
